TESTIMONIALS

I have been getting deep tissue ayurvedic massage from Tai for just short of a year now. I have been working to release stress from a divorce, (or I could say a traumatic experience) and the somatic massage has helped me to release stress stored in my body. Tai has a private studio she works from and I think the environment is supportive for the deep tissue work she applies. I purchased a package so I could get a sequence of 5 treatments to deepen the benefit. Tai is very pleasant and supportive & works deeply in areas that need attention most. I am grateful for the benefits and healing work I have had the opportunity to work through with her.

I had been getting massages for over 30 years, from various professionals on Maui and the mainland. I heard about Ayurvedic massage from being a student of Om Maui’s exercise programs and once I was able to experience this with Tai, I was grateful for her expertise. She ALWAYS irons out the kinks, the stresses, or the knots she finds that I didn’t even know I had. I highly recommend to anyone who has not tried Ayurvedic with Tai to do so. I have been going to her since 2012 and I can never go back to having a regular massage after her Ayurvedic treatments. Not 5 stars, the universe of stars!!!

After the isolation of the COVID pandemic, I was feeling very sluggish and aches and pains were unfortunately present. I stopped into Om Maui, one day, to check out their offerings for fitness and I am so grateful that I decided to let Tai and the other trainers help me. Since I have been going to  workout with Tai I have felt ever so much better. I have had people say that I look more healthy than I did even years ago. I am grateful to Tai for her skill in knowing what my body needs with the physical training and her gifts in the area of Massage.

I had the pleasure of visiting Tai Souza’s Wellness Spa in Upcountry Maui. From the moment I entered the lovely garden setting , I felt peaceful and relaxed. The waiting area is comfortable with white hammocks and lovely white couches. The spa smells and looks spotless clean. I started my healing session with the infrared sauna. It was a new cedar paneled sauna with large glass doors. I liked being able to control the music and I liked being able to see out of the sauna. The sauna uses infrared lamps and electro magnetic magic to create warmth. The temperature is lower than a regular sauna, but I broke into a cleansing sweat very quickly. After a shower in an outdoor shower that looked like it came out of Pinterest, I used the cold plunge pool. This session lasted only 3 minutes in a sparkling clean tub of ice water. I felt invigorated and energized and relaxed after the plunge. My massage was an Ayurvedic one hour massage with assisted yoga stretches. Tai used warm Ayurvedic oils that smelled healthy and lovely. The massage room was private, clean, new and airy. It had a Balinese type of architecture. The massage was Amazing, relaxing my tight muscles and calming my mind. Tai was professional, courteous, and available the entire session. She exudes confidence . She has a wealth of knowledge, years of experience, exceptional training and a passion for helping others to become more healthy and fit. Tai’s Spa has a calming, relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend it.

Tai is a powerful force of good in the world, and an incredible human! I started training with Tai a few years ago when I moved to Maui and she has become family. Leave it to Tai for holding you accountable, increasing longevity, cheerleading all along the way, and making sure you have fun while training. Tai promotes healthy living and functional training so you can live the life you want to and enjoy every day to the fullest. Words can not express my gratitude for how Tai has changed my life, given me confidence, and helped me reach beyond my goals.

After Covid happened, I realized how much muscle strength I lost. I decided to hire Tai, a personal trainer at OM studio. And I’m quite happy that I did. Tai has been my personal trainer for over 3 years. I can’t sing her praises enough. We do most of our sessions virtually and I travel often, so we have been in 7 states and all kinds of weather. I work out behind our sprinter van, with a TRX, yoga mat, resistance bands and three sizes of dumbbells. She individualizes each workout specific to my fitness goals and ability. Working out with Tai is hands down the best gift I have given myself for my health, strength and flexibility. She is always encouraging, positive and non-judgemental. With her vast experience, she knows how to get me stronger while keeping me safe and injury-free. I was lucky enough to receive one of her amazingly relaxing massages in her beautiful peaceful studio on Maui. She is simply the best!

I first came to Tai… broken. As a 50+ former football player, physically busted up in so many places after so many years of damage and abuse, my body started revolting, grinding to a stop. And it left me completely emotionally wrecked. As an avid Snowboarder/Mountain Biker/Surfer, I am deeply connected to the outside. I simply NEED to move my body, in the backcountry. This felt over. All the “Doctors” wanted me to do was see a pain specialist. Here, “take these drugs.” I refused to go down this path, just as I met Tai Souza, who took me down a different path. She took one look at me, and knew exactly what to do. I was thinking pilates was something only for girls. I was thinking I already knew how to stretch and bend and move and lift. I was thinking massage was something you only did at a resort, or got as a gift. Well, the TRUE gift has been this incredible woman with deep intuition, powerfully skilled hands, and a driving motivational spirit. When we begin a session, EVERY session, she looks INTO me… and knows exactly what to do. I move again. I feel joy in my body again. We are retraining my brain on HOW to move for longevity. Her weekly therapeutic massage has become a necessity, not luxury. And now, I can actually see the athlete I want to be for my next 50 years. It’s HAPPENING. I remember what she said after our very first session: “Enjoy your body today.” Thank you Tai, I will. I do now. You have opened my eyes and changed my life!

I have always enjoyed working out and have tried many different types of exercises but I found that I was slowly getting injured, elbow and shoulder pain, Achilles pain for example. It was suggested I try Pilates and I started doing one on one sessions with Tai from OM Maui three years ago. My body has changed for the better both in lengthening my muscles and strengthening them. I have built up my core strength which has enabled me to be more adaptable to many different types of sports and activities and has also helped to eliminate back pain and improve flexibility. Tai is excellent at knowing which exercises are best for your strengths and weaknesses and is able to fine tune each work out to my needs. Her professionalism and dedication to her clients is why myself and others continue to come to her yoga and pilates classes. In addition to teaching pilates, Tai also gives great Ayurvedic and deep tissue massages that are healing and relaxing, improve circulation and really help reduce muscle stiffness. Recently I have tried her infrared sauna and plunge pool which was a really nice way to loosen my muscles before the massage and promote healing. Tai offered me tips with breath work to use the plunge pool which helped me get through the adjustment to the cold temperature. Overall it was invigorating, helped with muscle recovery, and it also has the benefits of detoxification and immune support. It is a really nice addition to incorporate the infrared sauna and plunge pool to her massage services and I would highly recommend using both if you have the chance to, both for its mental and physical benefits. Overall, I feel very fortunate to have Tai’s expertise of health and wellness within reach and her warmth and compassion make her massages and classes a must for anyone who wants to improve or add to their workout regime.

After an hour with Tai, life always feels so much better than before. She has amazing touch and sensitivity. Her new massage studio is warm & cozy & provides a very relaxing ambience. Tai’s knowledge of the human body is extremely impressive & very evident in her dedication to her art. After several years of being with Tai, I always look forward to the afterglow of one of her treatments.
